Pearl Jam announced today a ten date East Coast tour, which begins June 11th in West Palm Beach, FL and wraps up June 30th in Mansfield, MA.

Tickets sold to the general public will go on sale through Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. Public on-sale information will be posted on pearljam.com in the near future.

A Ten Club pre-sale for eligible members will begin on Monday, March 24th at 9am PDT on www.pearljam.com. You must be an active member of the Ten Club by Wednesday March 19, 2008 to qualify for the pre-sale ticket opportunity. We will stagger ticket sales to control web traffic, so please pay attention to the corresponding pre-sale dates and times. Pre-sale tickets are first come first serve, while supplies last. Pre-sales for any available tickets will remain open until Friday, March 28th at 5pm PDT.

Click here for information on the official rules, policies, and procedures for purchasing tickets from the Ten Club. We highly recommend that you read these details before purchasing tickets to a show so you are aware of how the ticketing system will work for you!

The opening act for dates June 11-17 will be Kings of Leon. Opening act for dates June 19-30 will be Ted Leo and The Pharmacists.

i nearly broke my cd player listening to the "into the wild" soundtrack over and over again. is it just me, or has eddie's voice never sounded better! i listen to "guaranteed" and the beauty of his baritone (i think that's what it is) just haunts me.

as an aside, i just moved from the bay area to the chicago area (in the depths of winter, smart). i would have postponed my new job if i knew about this solo tour before i left. damn. enjoy everyone!

Eddie Vedder will embark on a small, west coast, solo tour beginning April 2nd in Vancouver, BC and ending April 15th in San Diego, CA (full list of tour dates below).

Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Friday, February 22nd at 10am* PST through Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. (*Note: Santa Barbara goes on sale Friday, February 29th at 10am PST).

A special ticket pre-sale for eligible members of Pearl Jam's Ten Club will begin at 10am PST on Monday, February 18, 2008 at tenclub.net.

Fan Club members active as of Feb. 14th will qualify for the pre-sale. Due to the limited amount of fan club tickets available for this pre-sale, only US and Canadian members will qualify for the Ten Club pre-sale. We apologize to our overseas members.

There is a 2-ticket limit per member, per show. No single tickets. Ten Club tickets for the EV solo tour will NOT be seniority based. Tickets will be held in priority locations, but seat allocation will be chosen at random. The base ticket price for all shows is $65 per ticket, plus additional venue and handling fees. Tickets for the pre-sale will be sold only on tenclub.net with a Visa or Mastercard. No phone or mail orders.

Tickets will be distributed at will call on the evening of the performance. Only the Ten Club member who purchased the tickets will be allowed to collect the tickets. No exceptions.

Tickets are non-refundable. No exchanges or transfers will be allowed. Reselling of Ten Club tickets will result in revocation of all future Ten Club ticket benefits.

Proceeds from auction packages will support legal defense efforts for the West Memphis Three via the Damien Echols Legal Defense Fund. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse Miskelley (the WM3) have been in prison for 12 years for a crime they didn't commit. After years of waiting for the chance to demonstrate their innocence, the West Memphis Three will finally have hearings this Spring to introduce new DNA evidence proving they could not have committed the crimes for which they were convicted. Lets discuss Pearl Jam's latest Album "Pearl Jam"...

I have to say this album has been in my car for a long time. As a huge fan... my feelings seem to keep changing about the album fascinating... at times I think PJ is rocking at full force and at other times I feel a bit dissapointed... (I hope I don't get skewered for uttering any type of criticIsm) I spend a lot of time analyzing the different songs... letting them grow on me, trying to hear them in different ways, wishing dynamics or stresses had been changed around. At times I think something was missing from the album, maybe final polishing... it seems like a lot of the songs don't reach their full potential.... which bothers me... because I keep hoping the world will be re-introduced to pearljam with each coming album... kinda the way Green Day did it with "American Idiot" and the Chili Peppers with "Californication". I think there are moments of brilliance on the album... two of my favorite moments are the little digression type singing in "Severed Hand" that goes "if I don't lose control... explore and not explode... and so on. The other is the mid song rant in "Marker in the Sand" where the guitars kick back up to speed and Ed rattles off "I feel a sickness, a sickness coming over me... like watching freedom"... and so on... those moments remind me of PJ at their best.

Not that I dislike the new album, I would actually say I like it a lot... but it is just frustrating to me because it seems like the gear from good to classic could have been hit if a little more atttention was payed to certain production or arrangement type things. That being said, I am coming to love the first 5 song explosion on the record.

I'm curious to know how the album has been received by some of you. Anyone else think it would have been cool if the album opened with "Wasted Reprise" and led into "Life Wasted"?

Met Eddie backstage at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit...

It was so cool...he has the sweetest smile (even though he gets bombared)! I mentioned how talented I thought PJ is and the numerous shows. Also said I love his Dead Man Walking tracks w/ the late Nusrut Fateh Ali Khan. Got his autograph on my laminated pass and on Binural Shirt! Still floating a bit from it.

Also met Dave Mathews and he too autographed my laminated thing...mellow, but cute!

Obviously they were fabulous, even in the million degree heat.
I never was so happy for the sun to set in my entire life!

Here's some quick stats:
61 songs played, only 8 repeats for a total of 53 songs
heard over two nights.
And, like Eddie Vedder wearing shorts for the first time in 12 years onstage,
Dirty Frank was played for the first time since '94.
Which was pretty freaking sweet!

Now I'm sad, no more PJ til who knows when for me. Depressing. :O(

I actually meet Eddie at the Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit a couple of years ago. He came out to hear Paul McCarthy sing...with his then pregant gal friend (she looked gorgeous) and was sitting right across from my ailse seat. Didn't want to bug, but in-between songs I did say hello and he smiled and gave me the rocker handsignal.

SEATTLE - Seattle rock band Pearl Jam announced Wednesday that it will release its eighth studio album -- and first since 2002 -- in early May.

The self-titled CD is also its first release on its new label, J Records.

The album's first single, "World Wide Suicide," will be made available to radio stations March 8, and the same day the song will be available as a free download from the band's Web site, www.pearljam.com.

Tour dates in support of "Pearl Jam" will be announced later this month, the band said in a news release.

Pearl Jam was formed in 1991 and rose to prominence during the Northwest's early 1990s grunge movement. The band has sold nearly 60 million albums worldwide.

so someone posted in another thread about being ready for dirty frank. i'd fly off the handle for that shit. but, what i'm really waiting for (and have been waiting for) is W.M.A. i don't think that song has been played in it's entirety since the tour supporting VS. came out. it's definitely been used as a tag on many occassions, including (i think it was twice) in the past full US tour for Riot Act.

i'm just pissed that i tried so fuckin hard to get tickets for the borgata show, and now there are over 70 posts on ebay for tickets. there were over 90 this weekend. what's up with that shit. i sent a couple of emails to the pearl jam powers that be to let them know what's up. they're totally aware of the fact that people do this, but there's nothing they can do. i totally think they should outbid everyone for the tickets and buy them all back, find out where they came frome, and cancel all those memberships.

just my opinion....but i think it's a good one.

Just barely joined the community and semi-new to the Bay Area, (was here for 7 months last year and then moved back to Texas).

I was a little upset that Pearl jam didn't choose to tour the US first, but that is okay. I would go to the Canadian shows, but I have to save some $ to find a place in CA. I guess I'll have to wait til the U.S. tour.

Who else on this forum is not going to the shows?

so, for anyone who is curious, the st. louis show was unfuckingbelievable. i recorded the show, and hopefully i'll find a place to post it within the week (i wish i didn't have a fucking wedding to go to this weekend. dammit!!) hey, what should i get for the secretary in my office? any suggestions? i was thinking just money, or weed, but i dunno. if money, how much?

moving along though, great concert. mike was ALL OVER the stage. running around in circles, jumping up and down, flinging guitar picks at the crowd. they really sounded great.

Over on the synergy message board, somebody confirmed that PJ would be playing a fundraiser sometime in September. It is a 3 night thing.....not sure if they are playing all 3 nights or not!
